Our Story
We are a non-profit charity organisation launched in 2013 by North Somerset Council. We provide health and well-being that is affordable and inclusive to all members of the public and we strive to offer a private gym experience on a low budget.
Within the centre, we have a gym which was extended and refurbished in 2019. The fitness suite has state-of-the-art Matrix Fitness Equipment. We also have an aerobics dance studio which holds over 50 classes across the week, led by our team of self-employed fitness instructors and personal trainers.
The Lounge Cafe serves Bristol Twenty Coffee, homemade cakes, and a full breakfast and lunch menu available daily.
Free WiFi within the centre enables local businesses to meet and hold small business meetings in a relaxed environment.
The 3G pitch offers local grass roots and adult football clubs an all-year-round service to train and hold seasonal matches.
We also work closely with Brandon Trust, which offers day services to adults with learning difficulties, providing them with skills to use out in the community. This includes artistic skills within Banwell pottery and gardening skills in our on-site green fingers allotment.
Meals on Wheels work within the centre, helping members of the community in need of a filling meal on a daily basis.
We are based next to Worle Community School who are part of the Priory Learning Trust. We work alongside the PLT to manage their sporting facilities including the gymnasium, sports hall, hockey astro pitch, and tennis/netball courts. Year 10 and 11 students get the opportunity to use the @Worle fitness suite on a weekly basis to help with their fitness and wellbeing.
Overall, the centre offers something for everyone. We are always trying to evolve and keep up with the newest fitness trends. Being a non-profit organisation, we have to re-invest into the centre or the community whether that be grants for local clubs for equipment and uniforms or invest in our staff development.
Worle Centre is run by Candace Riley who has 23 years’ experience in the fitness industry and is supported by a board of trustees. They are a group of like-minded individuals who want to move the centre forward and tackle any challenges together. Our trustees are a mix of members, users of the centre and Brandon Trust staff and we are always looking to welcome new trustees to help move the centre forward.
