  • Paul Savage

    CHAIR OF TRUSTEES

The facilities at @Worle are some of the best in the surrounding area and it is right on my doorstep. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Candace has supported my sports club right from the very beginning. I feel part of the sporting community.

As a Trustee my vision for @Worle is for it to become the focal point for the local community and see it grow to accommodate the growing clientele. Being part of the decision making puts me in a good position to realise this.

  • Paul Magor

    VICE CHAIR

Being a trustee was an easy decision, being able to help push the centre forward and help it grow by still ensuring that we are all inclusive is very important,

Entering the gym is never easy and I want to make sure that everyone feels welcome and the wellness of all members is even more important in todays world than ever before.

People’s health and wellbeing is paramount in ensuring everyone have the best experience within the centre and I want to be part of ensuring this continues as we grow.

I have worked in Health and Social Care for 40 years, working with Adults and Children with Learning Disabilities.

As Locality Manager for Brandon Trust, I have the honour of becoming a Trustee.

Our aim is to be part of this wonderful community, encouraging all people to live the lives they choose.

I want to continue to contribute to the development of this facility and further enhance the lives of all disabled people.

  • Sarah Ireland

    TRUSTEE

I’ve been a member @Worle since 2020. I love the feel of the centre, it’s friendly and welcoming.

I have worked in and led charities all my life – mainly living overseas whilst working with Oxfam. I am back in Weston-super-Mare now and work for St Margaret’s Hospice in Somerset.

I became a Trustee to support the Centre, bringing my knowledge and experience of working in charities and my enthusiasm to continue to build the centre as an important part of the local community.

  • Cassidy Banks

    TRUSTEE

Having personally experienced the transformative power of fitness and wellness, I am passionate about ensuring that everyone in our community has access to a supportive and inclusive fitness environment.

By actively engaging with members and collaborating with fellow trustees, I hope to play a vital role in shaping @Worle's future, fostering a sense of unity, and empowering individuals to achieve their health and wellness goals.

I love to chat so please come and say hi!

  • Andy Blackborow

    TRUSTEE

My background is in events and entertainment at Wave Community Radio and I assist with @Worle’s social calendar (you’ll always find me at Worle Fest!)

Personally when not out entertaining the masses or working on events I can be found outdoors with my family and dog generally getting into the outdoors.

It’s good to work hard but we should all make time to relax and unwind, maybe in The Lounge?

HOW IT WORKS

HOW IT WORKS

Did you know that @Worle is a registered charity?

That means that we are a not-for-profit organisation and all the money we earn or raise goes straight back into our services. It also means that we serve and support our local community and try and ensure that our services are open to all.

How is our charity run?

All charities in England are regulated by the Charity Commission and as a charity, we have a board of trustees who lead the organisation, and our manager and staff team who manage the day-to-day operations. The trustees are people who have a link with @Worle. They are members and users of our services. The trustee group meets every 2 months to monitor the work of the organisation including finances. There is a Chair and a Vice Chair who help lead the group, and there are smaller working groups covering finance, people and events which meet regularly. Every year, we report to the Charity Commission and provide audited accounts.

How do you become a Trustee?

Do you have a vested interest in the growth of our centre? If so, ask our centre manager for an expression of interest form or fill it in by clicking the link below and email it to criley@worle.org.uk. You will then be invited to one of our bi-monthly meetings to find out a little bit more about the trustee role.
