POWER STRENGTH

& CARDIO

ABOUT THE CLASS

"Power strength" refers to the ability to generate explosive force quickly, combining elements of both muscular strength (lifting heavy weights) and speed (performing movements rapidly), while "cardio" describes any exercise that elevates your heart rate and breathing, focusing on endurance and sustained activity over time.

Essentially, power strength is about quick bursts of intense muscle exertion, whereas cardio is about maintaining a consistent level of activity for longer durations.

Key points to remember:

Power Strength: Focuses on exercises like plyometrics (jumping), weightlifting with high velocity, and explosive movements.

Aims to maximize force production in a short time frame. Important for activities like sprinting, jumping, and combat sports.

Cardio:

Includes activities like running, swimming, cycling, dancing, and walking at a brisk pace. Improves cardiovascular health by increasing oxygen delivery to muscles. Can be done at varying intensities depending on fitness level.
